In my childhood having a younger brother with special needs, augmented my optimistic outlook. Us older siblings were determined to never let him feel inadequate or undermined in our company. For me this grew into a noticeable trait of mine (not allowing people to feel inadequate or undermined in my company), and as a senior at school I was chosen to represent various entities (boarding house, school, class).
I have helped many people recognise their so-called 'inadequacies' as hidden strengths. I follow the CliftonStrengths modules independently and use their amazing tools today in my training and coaching. I also found the Enneagram and Stephen Covey's The Leader In Me to be great resources in my coaching to help unravel your natural motivations, values and ultimately strengths.
