ABOUT HYACINTH & TAIMANA CONSULTING
Determined to stimulate positive change in the leadership and wellbeing of children
Pedagogical Anti-Racism Coach | Consultant: Wellbeing & Leadership Matters for African, Caribbean & Asian students/educators in Flanders
Hyacinth has over 30 years personal and professional experience in racial education and healing across African, Caribbean, Asian and European communities. As a coach, teacher and speaker, she conducts keynotes, workshops, and retreats raising awareness and connection beyond unconscious biases particularly in the fields of education and parenting.
Her work aims to transform educational institutions, which often progresses slowly, by focusing on the emotional wellbeing and leadership development of the most marginalised students and educators.
Taimana is Maori for “diamond”. Diamond’s are created by immense pressure underground and are pushed to the earths surface by earth quakes and volcanic movements. Metaphorically, speaking it is the same with our emotions, which need to surface and be appreciated for the gems they are, before they are carefully understood and admired for their brilliance, resilience and clarity. The consulting aspect emphasises the importance of compassionate communication, confidence building, emotional and spiritual intelligence competence and career development for students and educators with ties to Africa.
